For some reason, I've never shown photos of my favorite room in our house here on CHC! (Except for a small view in a "How To" post that I just updated today.) As you probably guessed from the post title, it's our sunroom! I love all the windows, the bold color and the view of my gardens!
This next picture was taken while we were house-hunting and our home was still occupied by the previous owners. They picked some great wall colors through out the house, all of which we have left unchanged until just recently when we painted our two-year-old daughter's new room. We've just touched-up a few spots and given a few areas a fresh coat. The sunroom was painted in Benjamin Moore's Valentine. And. I. love. it!
The only change we've made in this room, besides adding our own decor of course, is installing new windows. We went from single-pane windows with storm-windows to double-pane windows with Low-E and Argon. We also had grids put in them, which I think adds a lot of charm and quaintness!
We replaced the windows around two-years-ago, but because of the cost we waited until just recently to start the process of replacing the door that goes out to our deck. In about two-weeks we will have a new door and our home will be one more step closer to being energy-efficient! Plus, the temperature in my favorite room will be much more comfortable!
This last picture was taken awhile ago, but the room hasn't changed much since. Though there is a project that involves this room that's been on my 'To-Do' list for over a year now. That is to paint the ceiling! I plan on making it a spring project once I move all my plants outside. (During the winter months this room kind of serves as my greenhouse!) I'm really excited about this project and can't wait to show you the color!
