Master Bath: Ready to Tile

Last weekend the four of us spent almost an entire day in home improvement stores! Our mission: to find tile (for our shower and the top of our vanity-side-cabinet) and a shower door what would accomplish the look we wanted (crisp, bright, and classic... kind of a hotel / spa feel) at the lowest price.

We framed in the shower (and around an old window), hooked up the plumbing, put up concrete board and put in a shower base...
We considered replacing this window like we did in the bedroom, but since it will be covered with glass blocks we decided to save some $ and just make sure it was sealed well with some spray foam, lots and lots of spray foam...
In the shower we are using glossy white 6x6 tiles...
...and small marble tiles for a decorative strip (five tiles wide) at the bottom of the window level. For the top of the vanity-side-cabinet we are going to use large marble tiles (these are 12x12 but will need to be cut)...

Our shower door... (I'll let the label do the explaining here...)

We choose the "Rain" glass for something different, more interesting and fun...

Even though we don't have a jacuzzi, we're hoping this room will feel relaxing and luxurious! We are so excited to stand back and admire the finished product! Besides putting the railing on the staircase this will be our last major project in the basement! Then we can get on to the best part... decorating! After that, we'll be completely done just in time for spring and I can spend my days in the garden!

XO,

   Jaclyn

  1. Very nice! I LOVE marble...so I totally dig your small marble tiling! So pretty. I like the rain effect - so practical, too! I bet it will be so pretty!
